Calligraphy-Inspired Opera Performance

Scope: Calligraphy artwork, solo exhibition and co-production of an opera performance

In collaboration with Cranleigh Abu Dhabi and a creative team from the Royal Opera House, London, Narjes co-produced an opera celebrating Eastern and Western cultures. The production was created in response to her calligraphy artwork Beautiful World, inspired by Sheikh Zayed’s poem “How Beautiful This World Is”. This artwork is a 400 × 140 cm acrylic on canvas, and was first shown in her solo exhibition Beautiful World at Cranleigh Abu Dhabi, Saadiyat Island, in November 2016. The exhibition and the opera were then presented together at the National Theatre in Abu Dhabi as part of the 2016 UAE National Day celebrations.
