General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), Dubai

Client: General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, Dubai (GDRFA)
Year: 2015
Scope: Concept, calligraphy and design of a facade artwork, selected through a juried competition

Narjes was commissioned to create this facade artwork for GDRFA in Dubai after a juried selection in which she competed alongside other local high-profile artists.

Her proposal was built on poetry verses by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai, that welcome those who come to live in the country, promising them a life of dignity and respect, security and support for as long as time endures, and describes the country as a garden in which newcomers live in its shade and grace.
