du National Day 2018 Celebration Platform

Scope: Design of the form and calligraphy of a National Day installation

Narjes was commissioned to design the National Day celebration platform for the du headquarters in Dubai. She designed both its form and its calligraphy.

The platform is inspired by the traditional Emirati dhow. Four angled white panels rise from a circular stage like sails, and each is covered with blue Arabic calligraphy. The calligraphy carries the values of opportunities, harmony, security and happiness, which embody the spirit of life in the UAE and its vision of being a global benchmark for national happiness.
