Carpet & Arts Oasis 2013: Weaving Letters

Narjes designed the event’s visual identity for Carpet and Arts Oasis 2013, a carpet exhibition held by Dubai Customs under the theme “The beauty of spinning art” (نسيج من الفن)

At its centre is Weaving in Letters, a calligraphy artwork in Jali Diwani script. The composition is designed to echo the weaving of a carpet: layered diamond forms in teal, turquoise and amber, bordered by fringed edges, with letters that interlace like threads.

The artwork was carried across the event’s printed materials, including the brochure and posters, as well as the exhibition banners and a large banner on the venue’s exterior.
